Summer Splashtacular!

Come kick off the 2018 Summer swim season at Lakeview Waterpark or Lincoln Pool! Enjoy FREE entry all afternoon with water safety educational booths and fun safe swimming activities. Look forward to lifejacket safety, “reach or throw don’t go” , sun safety, and much more. Complete all safety stations and be entered to win an outdoor pool punch pass, a free session of swim lessons or various other prizes.

Coed T-ball, Girls Slow Pitch Softball, & Boys Coach Pitch Baseball

This recreation program is designed to promote participation, development of fundamental skills and fun in a mildly-competitive environment. Practices and games will be held at Skyview Park. All players will receive a T-shirt, cap, certificate of participation and a medal. Players must meet the minimum age requirement on or before June 4, 2018. Programs begin with daily practices (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs for T-ball) until season starts. Once the season begins, games will be played 2-3 days a week, with no further practices scheduled. Volunteer coaches are always needed!

Ages: T-ball: 4-6; Softball: 7-8, 9-11, or 12-14; Baseball: 7-8, 9-11, or 12-14

Youth Tennis 101

Youth Tennis 101 teaches the basic concepts and strokes of the game quickly and easily in a fun, family-friendly, active & encouraging group environment. Classes will take place on multiple courts with instructors trained and provided by Idaho Tennis Association.

Archery

The basic archery class will teach basic technique and form using a compound bow. Equipment, safety and elements of shooting will be covered. Equipment is provided. Students may use their own equipment with instructor approval. Advanced Archery; class will cover equipment, safety and advanced form and techniques using a compound bow.

W.S.I. Water Safety Instructor Course

This American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course demonstrates how to teach Red Cross swimming lessons and set up lesson plans. Course prerequisites are 25 yards in the following 6 strokes; Front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke, butterfly, sidestroke and elementary backstroke.

Messy Munchkins

Family Aqua Zumba combines the aerobic benefits of water workouts with fun music and dance. Jump into the Latin-inspired, easy to follow, calorie-burning, dance-fitness party that makes working out a splash! This unique workout is designed for all ages and ability levels. This program is not limited to dancers, everyone can join and enjoy the benefits and great dance moves. Water shoes are recommended.

Jr. Lifeguard Boot Camp

Learn what it takes to be a lifeguard, such as recognizing a drowning victim, how to assist someone who is struggling in the water and how to perform CPR and First Aid. You must be 11 – 14 years old and be able to swim 25 yards front crawl and 25 yards breaststroke as well as tread water for one minute and float for 30 seconds on your back. Upon completion each student will receive an American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification.

Stay locked in at the Nampa Rec Center all night! Kids will enjoy movies, swimming, games and a pizza party. A male and female supervisor will be with the children all night. Children should bring a sleeping bag, swim suit, towel and clothes to sleep in. Ages 6-12

This camp is designed for girls with minimal volleyball experience, but is diverse enough to challenge players who have participated in the Little Spikers camp. This camp teaches basic skills with a focus on getting multiple contacts on each side of the net. A variety of drills and games keep it fun for repeat campers. For girls entering 5th and 6th grade.

Youth Strength Training

By completing this course, students will be granted use of the weight room at the Nampa Recreation Center. This course will focus on safe, productive training and will cover the components of fitness, exercise principles, weight lifting techniques, strength potential factors, spotting responsibilities, weight room etiquette and practical experience.

This fun and exciting eight week Junior League gives kids the opportunity to get out on the course and compete with other kids their own age. Kids will compete in various weekly competitions (Scramble, Best Ball, Fewest Putts, Mystery Hole, Blind Hole, Stroke Play, etc…) and must provide their own clubs. Get Golf Ready Clinic at Ridgecrest Golf Club

Get Golf Ready is an opportunity for adults to learn the game of golf in a fun and relaxed environment. All classes will be taught by PGA Professionals and clubs will be provided if needed.

Craters of the Moon

From Star Wars to Minecraft to LEGO friends! Join the Nampa Recreation Department and Idaho Guide Services for this half day rafting adventure down the Snake River. Pond Care Basics

Having a pond for water plants and or fish for food has been a practice for a long time. Having a water feature that makes a pleasant sound and contains attractive plants and or fish can make a backyard an oasis for the mind and spirit.
