The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will resurface and reconstruct several roads in downtown Nampa adjacent to the city of Nampa’s 2nd and 3rd Streets South Roadway Rebuild project. The project is anticipated to start in early June and be completed in July.
ITD’s project, I-84 Business Loop Construction, will affect 2nd and 3rd Streets South between 11th Avenue South and Northside Boulevard, the Library Block and 11th Avenue North to Garrity Boulevard. ITD is anticipated to complete most work at night.
An open house on the I-84 Business Loop Construction project is scheduled for Thursday, May 31 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Nampa Civic Center in the Casler Room. The city of Nampa will attend to provide current information on the 2nd and 3rd Streets South roadway rebuild project and to help the public understand where its project ends and ITD’s begins.
“The projects are in close proximity to one another and we want to make sure the public understands who to call if they have questions, so the right team can address the issue,” says assistant city engineer Jeff Barnes.
The 2nd and 3rd Streets South project is rebuilding the roadway between 12th and 16th Avenues South. Sidewalk corners are being improved to fit Downtown Historic Streetscape Standards and to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Several underground utilities are also being upgraded. The $2.8 million project is scheduled to be completed in late summer.
