Ballet Idaho will bring a version of its Winter Repertory to the Nampa Civic Center community as part of its performing arts productions.
From the Morrison Center, Ballet Idaho’s Winter Repertory will travel to the Nampa Civic Center for one night only, Feb. 25. This program will include Peter Anastos’ ballet Sweet Dreams with music by Patsy Cline, the Anastos comedy ballet Night Crawlers, as well as excerpts from Ojeda’s The Monster and the Gift.
Led by artistic director Anastos, Ballet Idaho is the only professional ballet company and academy in the state of Idaho, bringing together the highest level of dance with a commitment to education and training. For more information, visit

“Expanding our performances to new communities is important to our strategic plan of growing our reach to being recognized as “Ballet Idaho” not “Ballet Boise,” Ballet Idaho Executive Director Jenny Weaver noted. “As Idaho’s only professional ballet company, this performance is significant to our mission and Nampa is a great first step.”
Civic Center Director John Cantlon is excited to bring Ballet Idaho to Nampa.
“Collaborating with professional people and production companies like Ballet Idaho leads to performances for our community to experience human emotion and portrayal that broadens our lives and opens the eyes of our children to a diverse experience.”

What to expect at the show:

Patsy and Elvis: An honest to goodness Rock-a-Billy ballet! Our dancers cruise, glide, shake, and stomp through a suite of great 1950s music. A treat for the whole family, this colorful and fast-paced dance celebrates classic American culture and the musical genius of Patsy Cline and Elvis Presley.

The Monster and The Gift. A contemporary work with a modern theme, this challenging and emotional ballet is brand new, created especially for Ballet Idaho dancers this season. It is the story of an Artist's dedication to her work and the price of talent, the isolation and loneliness of genius.

Night Crawlers. A Ballet Comedy. This is a fun take on everything and anything that can go wrong. The hapless heroine, the ditsy partner, a screwball chase, a depressed ballerina, an acrobatic upside down duet, thrills, chills, and even some spills. Even at the Ballet you can really have a good laugh!
